This is by design. Figure AI built the 03 for versatility: offices, retail floors, light manufacturing, domestic assistance.

Its balanced proportions and medium build accept a remarkably wide range of garment silhouettes, making it one of the most rewarding platforms to dress. Every piece of Figure 03 clothing we produce reflects this generalist philosophy, adaptable, refined, quietly authoritative.

Specialists are easier to dress. A warehouse robot needs durability. A domestic robot needs softness. The Figure 03 needs everything. It greets visitors in a corporate lobby at nine, stocks shelves in a fulfillment center at noon, and assists with meal preparation in a residential kitchen by evening. Figure 03 fashion must transition across these contexts without losing coherence, structural integrity, or visual authority.

The platform's 42 degrees of freedom sit in a thoughtful distribution. Shoulder and elbow joints prioritize the forward manipulation plane, reflecting the Helix AI system's emphasis on hand-eye coordination and object interaction. Hip and knee joints provide stable, efficient locomotion without the acrobatic range of more specialized platforms. This focused joint architecture allows us to use slightly more structured construction than we would on a high-DOF platform, giving Figure 03 apparel a tailored crispness that reads well in professional settings.

At 60 kg, the 03 carries moderate mass on its 170 cm frame. The weight distribution favors the lower body, giving the platform a grounded, stable presence. We pattern our garments to complement this center of gravity. Tops are cut with clean, uncluttered lines that visually lighten the upper body. Trousers and lower garments carry slightly more structure, reinforcing the platform's natural visual weight distribution rather than fighting it.

MANIPULATION

HANDS THAT
TOUCH EVERYTHING

Figure 03's advanced manipulation system is its defining technical feature. The platform's hands interact constantly with objects, surfaces, tools, and increasingly with people. This places severe demands on sleeve, cuff, and glove design. Every piece of Figure 03 clothing must leave the hands and lower forearms completely unobstructed while maintaining a finished, polished appearance at the wrist transition.

We approach this through what our atelier calls the zero-interference cuff. The sleeve terminates 4 cm above the wrist joint in a bonded edge that sits flat against the forearm housing without elastic tension or gathered fabric. The transition from garment to exposed mechanism is clean and intentional, treated as a design feature rather than a compromise. For deployments where full arm coverage is preferred, we offer articulated sleeve extensions with bellowed joints at the wrist that compress and extend with the platform's natural movement arc.

Garments from our Hospitality Noir Collection are particularly well-suited to Figure 03 in retail and service contexts.
