Tesla Optimus Hospital Uniform

Scrubs, lab coats, and patient-facing garments. Built for infection control and 24-hour duty cycles.

Infection Control Comes First

Hospitals are not hotels. The uniform is not about guest perception. It is about infection control, patient comfort, and compliance with facility hygiene protocols. Every material decision starts there.

All hospital-line fabrics are antimicrobial. Fluid-resistant coatings prevent absorption of blood, saline, and other fluids. Garments survive autoclave sterilization. They are compatible with hospital-grade disinfectant wipe-down between patient interactions.

Configurations

Scrubs

Two-piece scrub set in standard hospital colors: ceil blue, surgical green, navy, or grey. The top accommodates the Optimus torso profile. The trousers terminate above the ankle actuator. Drawstring waist is replaced by an elastic panel that sits flat against the chassis. No dangling strings near moving parts.

Lab Coat

White, knee-length. The coat is the most requested configuration for Optimus units in patient-facing roles. It reads as "medical professional" instantly. The coat conceals most of the Optimus chassis, which reduces patient anxiety in early-adoption facilities. Sensor-transparent panels at the chest and back maintain LIDAR and camera function.

Patient Transport

Simple tunic over trousers. The tunic is loose-fitting for maximum arm ROM during wheelchair and bed transport tasks. Fabric is reinforced at the hip and waist where the robot contacts wheelchairs and bed rails during patient transfer operations.

Hospital garments require facility-specific compliance review. We work directly with infection control teams to validate materials and construction before production.

Patient Psychology

A bare robot approaching a hospital bed is alarming. The same robot in a lab coat is a medical assistant. Studies from early healthcare robot deployments show that patient anxiety scores drop significantly when the robot is dressed in familiar medical attire. The lab coat is the single most effective garment for patient acceptance.

Laundering and Sterilization

Hospital laundering is aggressive. High temperatures. Industrial detergents. Bleach. Our hospital-line fabrics are rated for 300+ commercial wash cycles at healthcare-required temperatures. Seam bonding survives autoclave exposure. Color retention holds through repeated bleach cycles on white garments.

For departments requiring disposable outer garments, we offer a single-use gown that fits over the standard uniform. The gown tears away at magnetic seams for rapid removal.
