Tesla Optimus is scaling from prototype to production, moving into warehouses, offices, and private homes. Its near-human proportions make it one of the most versatile platforms to dress, and one of the most demanding to dress well.
At 173cm and 57kg with 40 degrees of freedom, the Optimus occupies a form factor close enough to human scale that adapted tailoring techniques apply. That similarity is deceptive. Shoulder servos generate concentrated heat during sustained movement. The torso houses battery and processing systems that require ventilation. Sensor arrays distributed across the head, chest, and forearms must remain unobstructed. Clothing this platform means solving all of these constraints inside a garment that reads as refined, approachable, or authoritative depending on the deployment context.
Our atelier maintains a comprehensive Optimus pattern library, updated with each hardware generation. Patterns are drafted from 3D articulation maps that document clearance requirements at every joint position across its full range of motion.
Corporate deployments are the most common Optimus use case. Our Executive Protocol collection provides structured suiting in technical wool blends with sensor-transparent panels concealed behind lapel construction and stretch gussets at the elbows and shoulders. The effect is boardroom-appropriate attire that allows the robot to reach, turn, and gesture without restriction.
Domestic settings call for different materials and silhouettes. Soft jerseys, matte knits, and relaxed fits from our Maison Privee line create warmth and approachability. For hospitality and retail, branded uniforms incorporate company identity through color, insignia, and textile choice while meeting the practical demands of continuous operation: stain-resistant finishes, quick-release closures for cleaning rotation, and reinforced high-contact zones.
Optimus garments are constructed in our Paris atelier from fabrics sourced globally, including from France, Italy, and Japan. Thermal zones around the shoulder actuators and torso processor use conductive mesh linings that channel heat toward ventilation openings. Sensor windows are integrated using optically clear panels for cameras and infrared-transparent fabric for LiDAR arrays. Most structural textiles are custom made in-house to achieve the specific stretch, recovery, and EMC compatibility profiles each garment zone requires.
Attachment relies on a hybrid system: magnetic closures at the torso for rapid changes, friction-fit sleeves on the arms, and mechanical clips at the waist for load-bearing security. A full garment change takes under three minutes.
Optimus commissions begin with a platform assessment. If you have a specific unit, we can arrange on-site 3D scanning. For pre-delivery planning, we work from Tesla's published specifications supplemented by our existing pattern library. Contact the atelier with your deployment details and timeline.
From a single executive suit to a full seasonal wardrobe, we build for the platform you have and the context it operates in.
