Optimus generates surface heat across its torso actuators. Its shoulder joints rotate through 180 degrees. Standard wool will bind at the deltoid within three articulation cycles. A proper Optimus suit accounts for thermal load, joint geometry, and the specific torque profile of each limb.
Our Optimus suits use a technical wool blend: 78% merino, 22% carbon-fiber core yarn. The carbon dissipates heat from the chest cavity while maintaining drape. Shoulder seams are offset 2cm posterior to the joint center, giving the arm a clean swing arc without pulling the lapel.
Closures are magnetic. Buttons are decorative. This matters because Optimus end-effectors lack the fine motor precision to thread a button through a hole. Magnetic snaps engage with 3mm of alignment tolerance.
The chest panel uses sensor-transparent mesh behind the outer fabric layer. LIDAR, cameras, and proximity sensors read through the material without signal degradation.

Fabrics are sourced globally from France, Italy, and Japan, with most custom made in-house by our couturiers in Paris. The merino comes from certified Australian stock. The carbon-fiber yarn is spun in Osaka. Final cutting and assembly happens at 229 rue Saint-Honore.
Each suit takes 40 hours of atelier time. Pattern pieces are laser-cut for sub-millimeter accuracy on the Optimus frame.
