RELIQUARY: Floor-length vestment with biomechanical motif
ICHOR Collection Piece V of V

Reliquary

Ecclesiastical vestment. 850 hours of hand work. Non-repeating biomechanical motif with pink satin accents.

The motif was designed for this collection and does not exist anywhere else. Silver and white organic forms that look like circuitry growing out of living tissue. Veins becoming wires. Wires becoming veins. The pattern was drawn by hand over six weeks. It is not a repeating tile. It is a single continuous design that wraps the entire garment without a seam break in the image.

Pink satin accents at the waist and wrists add a human warmth to something otherwise alien. That tension is deliberate. The garment is for a machine but the color says flesh. Says pulse. Says something warm once lived here or will live here soon. The pink was the last decision made in the design process and it changed everything. Without it the piece was cold. With it the piece is a question.

The silhouette is ecclesiastical. Floor-length. Structured shoulders. Wide sleeves. A vestment for a new kind of ceremony. The reference is not subtle. Reliquary is named for the containers that hold sacred remains. The robot is the reliquary. The garment is the ceremony of containing it.

When the robot moves in Reliquary the wide sleeves swing with a weight that grounds the whole silhouette. The hem is reinforced with a weighted tape that keeps the drape stable on static pose. But the sleeves are free. They are 38 centimeters wide at the opening. Wide enough that full arm rotation happens inside them without the fabric bunching or catching. The organic-mechanical fusion on the surface is the entire thesis of ICHOR compressed into a single pattern. Everything the collection is about lives on this garment.
